These pictures show Courthouse Rock over two
decades of fun hikes led by WDA members within the Eagletail Mountains Wilderness
area (97,880 acres) that is surrounded by approximately 160,000 acres of BLM land
with numbered OHV access routes.
The balance of designations for the region provides excellent wildlife environment especially for species like desert bighorn sheep.
Cattleman Bill O'Brien supported Wilderness designation because it would better benefit
desert bighorn sheep (DBS) while allowing hiking, horseback riding, and cattle grazing.

Bill O’Brien was a great ally for the Eagletail Mountains were he enjoyed horseback riding while exploring this area over countless hours. His efforts to preserve Courthouse Rock and the Eagletails was helped by his college friend.
The effort of Bill O’Brien and Congressman Mo Udall should be remembered by all of us forever.
